Tabletop Exercise on the sidelines of IMF/World Bank Annual Meetings

AI Safety Asia is organising a tabletop exercise on Diplomatic Responses to an AI-enabled Incident necessitating regional coordination, on the sidelines of the IMF/World Bank Annual Meetings in Bangkok.

This exercise simulates a fictional-but-feasible scenario, an AI-enabled disruption to global shipping and trade. This unpredictable, escalating and interdependent event tests whether diplomatic and institutional responses would actually hold together in the event of a crisis.

Guided by facilitators, participants work in regional groups to explore response options to the unfolding scenario. The exercise focuses on two regions: Asia-Pacific and the North Atlantic. The discussion will surface where regional responses converge, where they diverge, and where coordination gaps remain.
