7 July 2026, 22:04–22:05 GMT+8 · Geneva, Switzerland

Bringing together participants from government, industry, research institutions and international organisations, AI Safety Asia and Chatham House facilitated a tabletop exercise exploring how states may respond to an AI-enabled disruption to global shipping and trade.
Working in regional groups representing Asia-Pacific and the North Atlantic, participants responded to a rapidly evolving scenario, navigating the operational, diplomatic and governance challenges that emerge when AI-enabled incidents cross borders and require coordinated international action.
The exercise encouraged discussion on crisis coordination, information sharing, decision-making under uncertainty, and the institutional mechanisms needed to strengthen regional and international preparedness.
